How to change the lock screen wallpaper on an iPhone automatically
For some people, it can get boring to have the same wallpaper on all the time. If you share this sentiment, you may liven things up by setting your iPhone to automatically switch out the wallpaper for the Home Screen and Lock Screen each day.
Additionally, you can set it up so that the wallpaper changes automatically when the charger is plugged in or out, when the device is in aeroplane mode, and under many other similar circumstances. How? Read on.
How to change your iPhone's wallpaper on a daily basis, in simple steps
STEP NO.1: Put your favourite wallpapers and photos in a photo album.
STEP NO.2: Create or add a shortcut that allows you to select images from your photo album and put them as the background of your iPhone's Home Screen and/or Lock Screen.
STEP NO.3: Make it so your iPhone automatically changes the wallpaper based on parameters you specify, then automate step 2 by doing the same with your iPhone. You won't have to perform any daily tasks as a result.
It may seem like a long guide. The good news is that it's simple. And anyone can accomplish it, including those who are brand new to using the Shortcuts app. Proceed with me!
Make an album of pictures.
If you already have a photo album with the images you wish to use as wallpapers on your iPhone, feel free to skip this step. If you lack a record like that. An overview can be found below:
STEP NO.1: Verify that the Albums area is selected in the iPhone Photos app by opening it.
STEP NO.2: Choose any appropriate name for the album by selecting New Album from the plus button at the top, then select Save.
STEP NO.3: After that, choose the pictures you wish to include in this album and hit Done.
STEP NO.4: Later, choose the relevant photos in the Photos app, hit the share button, choose Add to Album, then tap the album name to add them to the collection.
The first step has been completed successfully. I'll move on to the next.
Get the iOS shortcut that allows you to change your iPhone's background.
In this case, you have two choices. One is to construct the shortcut by adhering to the below stages. Easy to do. Alternately, you can alter the shortcut we previously established for you to choose the particular photo album you want to add. This is incredibly simple. You will learn how to accomplish both from us.
Create a wallpaper-changing iOS shortcut
STEP NO.1: The plus button can be found in the My Shortcuts section of the Shortcuts app.
STEP NO.2: At the bottom, click the box labelled "Search for actions and apps."
STEP NO.3: Find Photos using a search and then tap it.
STEP NO.4: Select Add Filter by tapping it.
STEP NO.5: The photo album you made above may be found by tapping Recents next to Album. The shortcut will choose an image from your entire Photo Library if you leave it set to Recents. You can select Selfies, Portraits, etc. if you don't want to select an album.
STEP NO.6: Choose Random by tapping None next to Sort by.
STEP NO.7: Limit it to one photo by turning on the Limit option and tapping the minus button (Get 1 Photo).
STEP NO.8: Select Set Wallpaper from the list of programmes and actions by tapping the appropriate button.
STEP NO.9: Running this shortcut will change the backgrounds for both your Lock Screen and Home Screen since they are both displayed by default. You can tap Lock Screen and Home Screen and select or deselect Lock Screen or Home Screen as you please. I only want to change the wallpaper on my Home Screen, so I will uncheck Lock Screen and touch Done.
STEP NO.10: Show Preview can be disabled by tapping the tiny arrow next to Photos. We want everything to be automatic, so if you don't turn it off, the shortcut will display a preview before changing the wallpaper and you'll have to tap Set. Make sure Show Preview is disabled in order to automate.
STEP NO.11: Give this shortcut whatever name you like starting at the top. The Daily Wallpaper Change will do for me.
STEP NO.12: To save the shortcut, press X in the top right corner.
STEP NO.13:The shortcut was successfully built. Tap the shortcut tile that says Always Allow (if requested) and go back to the Home Screen to verify. You'll be able to see that the wallpaper has successfully been altered! This proves that the shortcut you created is flawless. Go straight to the last action.
Edit the Daily Wallpaper Change shortcut
STEP NO.1: On this shortcut tile, tap the three dots symbol in the upper right corner.
STEP NO.2: Select a photo album from your collection by tapping Recents next to Album. If you don't, the shortcut will continue to function and will use the images from the Recents album in your Photos app, which means it will be able to access all of your images.
STEP NO.3: To stop editing the shortcut, tap the X in the upper right corner.
Now we go on to the third and last phase.
Set your iPhone up such that the wallpaper changes automatically each day.
STEP NO.1: Tap Automation after launching the Shortcuts app.
STEP NO.2: Create Personal Automation by tapping it. Using the additional button at the top right, add another automation if you already have one.
STEP NO.3: You may choose from a wide range of settings on the New Automation page, including Time of Day, Alarm, Sleep, Arrive, Leave, Before I Commute, CarPlay, Email, Message, and a lot more. You can select any, and the background will change when that happens. For instance, if you choose Charger > Is Connected, the automation will be activated and the wallpaper changed each time you plug your iPhone in to charge. Every time you enable Airplane Mode, the wallpaper will be automatically changed if you choose Airplane Mode > Is Turned On. You get the idea. Tap Time of Day since we want to change the background every day.
STEP NO.4: As soon as Time of Day is chosen, make sure to press the time box to choose the time at which you want the wallpaper to change. After that, confirm that Daily is selected under Repeat and hit Next.
STEP NO.5: Hit Find applications and actions, then tap Run Shortcut when it appears.
STEP NO.6: Select the shortcut you created or added above by tapping the word "Shortcut."
STEP NO7: Click Next.
STEP NO.8: Activate Don't Ask > Done > Turn Off Ask Before Running.
You've succeeded in setting up an automated to launch the Daily Wallpaper Change shortcut at the predetermined moment.
Left: My wallpaper can be seen at 12:41. Middle: I made a modification to the automation to have it run at 12:43 PM in the same minute. I then locked my iPhone after that. Right: As you can see, the iPhone changed its background image automatically at 12:43 PM.
Your iPhone will start choosing a random wallpaper from the album and applying it at the predetermined time each day from this point forward. In other words, every day your iPhone will have a fresh background!
