How do you make a Zoom background in Canva
For virtual meetings for both personal and professional reasons, I have used Zoom multiple times. How little attention is paid to people's backgrounds is the one factor that ties the majority of these meetings together.
It's possible to make a Zoom background in Canva, even the free version. The online picture editor features a section with ready-made Zoom Virtual Background layouts. However, you may use the blank template to design your own image or video background using either the free images and films provided by Canva or your own assets.
Your own background for Zoom may be easily made with Canva. This post covers all of the topics mentioned above, including why you should create your own virtual background, how to do it using Canva, and how to add it to your Zoom Virtual background library.
What makes a good zoom background?
It would be appropriate for a casual video meeting to have an amusing animated Zoom backdrop.
A lot of people think Zoom's virtual background has anything to do with the visual entertainment that may be had during calls. Some of the most well-liked Zoom backgrounds, for instance, include the Oval Office, Star Wars, and Disney settings.
While there is nothing wrong with wanting to use a background like this during a Zoom session, you must realise that the Virtual Background you select needs to match the kind of meeting you are holding.
If the conversation is lighter, it's acceptable to dress like you're on the bridge of the USS Enterprise. However, if you're hosting or attending a virtual business conference, how you come across will influence how other people perceive both you and your organisation.
A nice Zoom backdrop for your business conference should enhance the viewer's perception of you and your organisation. A picture of a boardroom or a plain background behind you looks great at all times. It's possible that the picture depicts your business, though. Having a picture of law book shelves behind you would be appropriate if you are a lawyer, for instance.
As an added bonus, the Virtual Background might make the audience pay more attention to you and what you have to say. To go one step further, you could brand your background. Adding your logo and tagline to a corner as a bug is something that TV stations commonly do.
Quick Tip 1: A plain solid-color background, such as a green or blue screen, will let Zoom remove your background more effectively. The best option is a painted wall behind you.
Quick Tip 2: Aim to avoid donning clothing or jewellery that matches the colour of the background when using a green or blue screen (which can be a simple wall behind you).
How do I create a virtual background?
Photoshop or a tonne of experience in graphic design are not required to create a virtual background. With the help of a simple online tool called Canva, you may create a range of eye-catching drawings and documents.
Despite the fact that you may upload your own graphical elements, the Canva website provides a wealth of materials, images, and videos that you can drag and drop into your designs to produce eye-catching results.
With Canva's FREE plan, you get access to hundreds of thousands of free pictures and graphics, more than 8,000 free templates, and more than 100 different design styles. In contrast, if you need access to more complex tools, such the background remover, you can upgrade to the Pro account. More than 60 million premium stock photos, movies, images, and graphics are now available to you, along with more than 60,000 free layouts.
It's a blessing that the FREE plan comes with templates for Zoom backdrops. Despite there only being a few designs, there are many that you can easily adapt.
If you utilise Canva's Zoom Virtual Background templates, getting the size just right won't be a problem because it's already been done. However, just in case, the Zoom background image or video should have a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels.
The steps to creating your Zoom background are listed below.
STEP 1
Go to Canva.com in a new tab and register there. There is no cost to register, and by doing so, your work and uploads will be saved for subsequent visits.
STEP 2
Hover your cursor over TEMPLATES in the menu bar. Then select ZOOM BACKGROUNDS from the menu that has now been presented.
Step 3
You'll find that Zoom claims you may choose from their library of free Zoom background images and movies to make any video conference as entertaining or professional as you wish.
Select the conference call template that best fits your needs by scrolling down the page.
I'm going to choose a background that's professional, fresh, and doesn't look overtly formal. There is a placeholder for a name on the left and a logo that we may change on the right. Simply click on it to get more information.
Its dimension is 1280 × 720 pixels, as you can see, which is what the Zoom background has to be. You can scroll down to view more information on the font, graphics, and photos that were utilised, as well as information about the design's primary colours. Last but not least, you'll see a range of related templates from which you can pick. Click the USE THIS TEMPLATE button to load it after confirming that we are ready to proceed.
Step 4
The information in the name holder must first be changed. In order to alter a text, click on the text, select the text, and then write the desired name. Likewise for the position title.
Step 5
If you have a logo, you can use it to swap out the logo bug on the right. Use a version of your logo with a translucent background to get the best results.
Select the image you wish to upload to Canva by clicking the UPLOAD AN IMAGE OR VIDEO button under UPLOADS in the left sidebar menu.
Step 6
At this point, you can move to the design's right side. To erase certain sections of the Corbel logo and text, select them with your mouse and then click the Delete key.
Step 7
Drag your logo into the design once the Corbel words and logo have been deleted.
Once your logo has been shrunk to the necessary size, use the handles on its corners to drag it to the location you desire.
You're done if you wish to use a still image as your Zoom Virtual background. The background is now available for download, and you can add it to your library of Zoom Virtual Backgrounds. Canva's Animate tool can be used to highlight your name and brand, though.
Step 8
All you have to do to make those elements animated is click someplace on your design to expose the Animate button, then select the desired sort of animation.
To see a preview of the animation type for each animation button, hover your cursor over it. The animation will be applied to the items in your background when you click the button after finding one you like. Use the play button next to the download button to see how your design will look fully animated.
How to add Canva background to zoom?
To use your Canva background in Zoom, you must first download it from Canva to your computer. The file can be added to Zoom's Virtual Backgrounds library once it is on your computer.
The DOWNLOAD button is located in the top right corner of the Canva window. This is the first step.
Several different formats are available for you to download when choosing your background.
You can make and download a high-quality PNG file if you have a still image background, or a JPG file, which is smaller but of poorer quality. You can use the slider control to change the image quality if you choose a JPG file. When the image quality is higher, the file size is larger, and when it is lower, the file size is smaller.
If you utilised video as your background or decided to animate the text and visual elements, you should select VIDEO MP4 as your file format.
Click the DOWNLOAD button to download the chosen file to your computer after making your selection of the file type.
Click the settings cogwheel in the top right corner of your Zoom desktop client after the wallpaper has been downloaded.
Select VIRTUAL BACKGROUND from the menu on the left, and then click "+" to add an image or a video. You can now access the file you saved to your computer and add it to your library of virtual backgrounds.
It will serve as your virtual background if the background is chosen from the Zoom Virtual Background library.
I sincerely hope that this information proves to be helpful to you.
